Chaos Marines: A New Year, A New List
It's a whole new year, which means another hobby resolution that I surely wont uphold! Yay! It's been an exciting year for us Chaos Marine players, the year started off with the Crimson Slaughter book, which gives us a whole bunch of very usable relics for our characters, and it finished with the all important Imperial Armour 13. I'm almost done with my Chaos hiatus, after the Las Vegas Open, I'll be back to my first love. After a bit of pondering, as well as playing with the kits on my bench that I've been dragging my feet on assembling, I am going to jump back into Chaos Marines with an Emperor's Children inspired list... still obviously Black Legionaries, just a warband focused on having a good time, doing drugs and listening to loud music. The list itself will be a shooting army built around denying cover, while hitting hard, and makes ample use of the goodies in IA13.
Chaos Lord: Mark of Slaanesh, power weapon, sigil of corruption: 120 Sorcerer: Mark of Slaanesh, spell familiar, psyker level 3: 140
10 Noise Marines: 2 blastmasters, 7 sonic blasters, Icon of Excess: 291 Chaos Rhino: 35
5 Noise Marines: blastbaster, 3 sonic blasters: 134 Chaos Rhino: havoc Launcher: 47
5 Noise Marines: blastbaster, 3 sonic blasters: 134 Chaos Rhino: havoc launcher: 47
Sonic Dreadnought: blastmaster, chainfist, warp amp: 190 Sonic Dreadnought: blastmaster, chainfist, warp amp: 190
Heldrake: baleflamer: 170
Chaos Relic Sicaran: sponson lascannons: 175 Chaos Relic Siracan: sponson lascannons: 175
Total: 1848
The Sorcerer rolls twice for Slaanesh powers and once on Malefic so that I can take the 2 Sicarans, and the chaos lord is there to be ever so slightly more than just 80 points of tax (plus I have an awesome conversion for his power weapon that I'll unveil when the time is right).
Troops are fairly light, though they pack a punch with a lot of ignores cover firepower, and come with those lovely objective secured rhinos.
I was worried about Imperial Knights and Stompas, as well as enemies in drop pods, which is why I opted for the chainfist instead of the missile launchers on the Sonic Dreadnoughts, though I can easily swap.
The Heldrake will help burn out any units that my noise marines can't be bothered with, as well as offering some assistance with AA. I've very much been thinking about swapping the flamer for the hades autocannon to lend more to AA and helping put some hull points on transports.
Finally, the Sicarans are just amazing tanks, being fast they can help with midfield objectives, while putting out a punishing amount of firepower. With the sponson lascannons, enemy wave serpents (and other skimmers) will still have to jink to avoid taking 2 lascannons to the face, despite the Sicaran's main weapon ignoring the jink save, it's just a lose-lose situation for them.
This list is a bit more bloated with wargear than how I usually play my armies, I could drop all the sonic blasters, havoc launchers, icon of excess and strip the lord down to nothing but an 80 point tax, which would give me 135 points to play with, though I'm going to try it out with all the toys first and see how that goes.
Here's my new Slaanesh Chaos Lord in progress:
List Update
So with some feedback from the comments, I've updated the list, I think that this is definitely a bit more competitive and threatening.

Instead of the Fire Raptor I could run a pair of Hell Blades with Helstorm Autocannons, but that'll take some fine tuning to determine which is better.
