Beerhammer 40k: Scenario Development
So I've been asked by a certain someone who runs certain tournaments, if I'd be interested at running a certain tournament at a certain event. Okay, lets cut the crap, Reece suggested that I run a Beerhammer event at the Las Vegas Open! Woohoo! Obviously, this is an event right up my alley, and anyone who has known me for a while may remember from my experiences at The Kalm.
For the sake of simplicity, and our livers, I'm thinking it should be a short, sweet, and alcohol filled, 3-round event. Along those same lines, I'd also like to keep the rules fairly simple and based one existing scenarios. With that goal in mind, I set forth, Guinness in hand, and came up with 3 scenarios that I am starting to like:
Scenario 1: The Beer-teor Shower
Dawn of War Deployment, Purge the Alien
Each Player gets a 6-pack of beer. At any time, when a player finishes a can of beer, they may place a beer can anywhere on the table, scattering 2D6", any model under the can suffers a S6 AP3 hit that ignores cover. The attack is treated like any normal Barrage weapon, additionally any models that survive the blast are pushed out of the blast radius and the empty beer can is placed in the center (i.e. it's a Mawloc).

Special Rules
Beer Haze: Shooting at Beer Cans is always resolved as if it were Nightfight. Contents Under Pressure: When a Beer Can is wrecked or otherwise destroyed, it always explodes as per the vehicle damage chart.
Scenario 2: Assault on Beeromunda Prime
Vanguard Strike Deployment
Each Player places 6 cans in their table half, in the same manner as objectives (they may not be within 6" of each other or a board edge). Each enemy beer can killed is 1 VP and the owner of that beer can must immediately shotgun chug drink it.

Special Rules

Scenario 3: The Hammering
Dawn of War Deployment, The Scouring
Each objective will be a can with a number between 1-3 written on bottom. Drinking the can allows the player to reveal how many points it is worth; you may only drink the beerwhile it is under your control, though you may drink it at any time during the game. Any unfinished drinks are worth 0 points at the end of the game.
There you have it! On average, I think it's doubtful that someone will have to drink 18 beers and 6 shots, I think a more realistic number is going to end up being 8-10 beers and 2-4 shots. If you drank 18 drinks, that means you used all your meteors, destroyed all the enemy beers and controlled every objective during The Hammering... So I don't think it'll be an issue.
