Eldar on my horizon?
While I've been pretty vocal to my friends about my disliking of the current edition of 40k, I will always want to build and paint some pretty models. Since my girlfriend has expressed some passing interest in learning how to play 40k, it has given me a bit of an excuse to pick up some more models and get to work on them. She particularly likes the Eldar, ever since seeing them in the intro to Dawn of War 2, so why not get her some girly elves? I think I've come up with a fairly balanced and effective 1850 list, based off of buying 2 of the battleforces to get the ball rolling, but since I have never really played Eldar, I could be totally daft. Here it is:
Farseer: Guide, Fortune, Runes of Warding, Runes of Witnessing, Spirit Stones: 150 Farseer: Guide, Fortune, Runes of Witnessing, Spirit Stones: 135
6 Fire Dragons: Exarch with Firepike and Crackshot: 121 Waveserpent: Twin-linked Bright Lance, Shuriken Cannon: 145
10 Guardians: Scatterlaser, Warlock with Conceal and Singing Spear: 138 10 Guardians: Scatterlaser, Warlock with Conceal and Singing Spear: 138 10 Dire Avengers: Exarch with Power Weapon, Shimmer Shield and Defend: 165 Waveserpent: Twin-linked Bright Lance, Shuriken Cannon: 145
Vyper: Scatterlaser, Shuriken Cannon: 70 Vyper: Scatterlaser, Shuriken Cannon: 70
3 Warwalkers: Dual Scatterlasers: 180 6 Darkreapers: Exarch with Tempest Launcher, Crackshot: 252 Wraithlord: Brightlance, Wraithsword, 2 Flamers: 140
What do you guys think? I particularly like the list because it uses the full contents of 2 battalions and gives me an excuse to buy the Wraithseer and Shadow Spectres (to use as Dark Reapers). For a paint scheme, I am heavily considering dark blue fabrics with pearl white armor.
