Medusa weathering cont.
So this is my first foray into the world of oil paints for miniatures. I used a bit of burnt sienna, burnt umber and yellow ochre. I first did a very diluted wash of burnt umber into the cracks to give it a pin wash and to help show the details. Afterwards, I dabbed on some sienna and ochre, then used a wide flat brush in vertical strokes to give it a streaked look. After this picture was taken, I went back and added some more Burnt Sienna to the rusty areas to give them a bit more of an aged appearance, you'll notice that in the next round of pictures. What do you guys think?
I'll be putting together a step-by-step tutorial for this step on my next tank, since I wanted to be sure I could do it nicely first, so stay tuned!
